Suggested general adult use: 3 capsules daily with meals or as directed by a physician. Following antibiotic therapy, take 1 capsule daily for 10 days to rebuild healthy bacteria in the body. Acute vaginitis can be treated by dispersing the contents of one half of a capsule in 10 ml of water and applied in the vagina with a plastic syringe. Apply once or twice a day until resolved. If irritation occurs, reduce the amount used or discontinue. A physician should manage unresolved vaginitis in a reasonable amount of time. Caution: A physician should be consulted in cases of unresolved diarrhea or digestive upset in children. Do not use in children younger than 2 years old unless guided by a health care professional who understands probiotic supplementation. Probiotic supplements should not be used to self-medicate conditions that should be managed by a physician, including intestinal pain or blood in the stool. Used too soon before or after antibiotic dosing could result in loss of probiotic efficacy due to the partial or full killing of the supplemented probiotic bacteria, as well as dissipating the antibiotic dosing strength. The ideal recommended separation is three hours between use of antibiotics and probiotics.
