Ingredients
This extra-strength nutritional supplement contains lutein and zeaxanthin to help promote healthy vision. The leading cause of blindness in adults over the age of 40 is age-related macular degeneration which interferes with retinal functioning. Cataracts caused by sun damage can hurt the lens proteins in the eyes, which this supplement works to prevent. Lutein and zeaxanthin are protective carotenoids that help absorb harmful blue light, which is caused by sun exposure. The lens of the eye will accumulate lutein to help prevent cataracts so when there is a high level of lutein in the macula, there is also a reduced likelihood of cataracts.
Take one softgel capsule daily, or as directed by your physician. Cautions: Long-term supplementation with Beta-Carotene (15 to 60mg per day) lowers blood levels of Vitamin E significantly and thus Vitamin E supplementation should be practiced to be safe. Those with Active Macular Degeneration may want to use up to 18mgs per day of supplemented lutein.
Active Ingredients: FloraGlo Lutein 20mg, Zeaxanthin 860mg.Inactive Ingredients: Softgel Capsule (Gelatin, Purified Water, Glycerin, Titanium Dioxide, Annatto), Soybean Oil, Yellow Beeswax, Lecithin.
